Afghanistan is facing a complex array of crises, including war, poverty, and natural disasters. In 2022, communities across Afghanistan experienced significant displacement due to flash floods, droughts, and earthquakes. According to the United Nations, 24.4 million Afghan people are in need of humanitarian assistance and resilient infrastructure.
One area that was particularly impacted by the earthquakes is the Gayan district. In this district, multi-family compounds housing an average of three to five families were devastated by a 5.9 earthquake that struck the area in June of 2022. This earthquake destroyed an estimated 13,000 houses and displaced hundreds of thousands of families.
This is where you come in. Your donation will help provide families in the Gayan district with the support they need to rebuild their homes and their lives.
