As Russia’s war on Ukraine keeps raging, and despite missiles continuing to rain down on Kyiv each week, we witnessed first-hand that the Ukrainian people are beginning to reconstruct their homes, schools, and bridges. Many have remained in their own country to live their lives and while some have the means to deal with the current situation, there are still plenty of disadvantaged families who need our assistance.
We at Miyamoto Relief stand firmly in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and pledge to help them repair and rebuild their country.
In October, amid air raid sirens, a Miyamoto Relief team of experts traveled to and investigated the needs of households in Ukraine. The following are first-hand accounts of the situation, their experiences and ongoing humanitarian efforts.
Although there is plenty of international assistance being provided for military purposes, humanitarian needs are just as great. Housing for the population is a “now” goal for Ukraine's reconstruction. Donations made will go directly to repair homes and lives.
As a first step, we will focus on homes owned by people who do not have the means to repair them themselves, especially the elder population. We have already commenced work on three war-damaged homes in the vicinity of Kyiv. Repairs needed range from new windows and doors to structural repairs.
We are asking for support from you to fund the costs on these homes. Repairs can be completed for as little as $2,000 USD per home. Our goal is to help as many people as possible as quickly as possible. Your help is vital, as a harsh winter is now here.
