START DATA

2022

After the 2022 Afghanistan earthquakes, Miyamoto International partnered with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to assess households, estimate repair costs, and provide “build back safer“ guidance.

Through coordination with local TWiG (Technical Working Group) clusters, our experienced technical team conducted thorough damage assessments and provided expert advice on safer building techniques. We engaged with local masons, engineers, and community members, fostering awareness and skill-building to empower them to construct more resilient structures.

By emphasizing safer construction methods and materials, we not only mitigate the risks posed by future disasters but also create a foundation for long-term community resilience and sustainable development.

Empowering Communities, Fostering Resilience

  • Assessed damage to 10,000 households

  • Trained 160 engineers from 21 agencies
  • Trained 1,000+ masons from 8 agencies
